Skid-steer Loaders
Mini-skid steer
The ultra-compact SK350 mini-skid steer from Ditch Witch features a 20-hp Kohler engine and an 11-gpm dual hydrostatic ground drive that gives it the same capabilities of larger machines. Its 7.5-gallon fuel tank provides up to 5 hours of operation so the operator can finish most jobs without refueling. Features include simple, easy-to-use, color-coded controls and a quick-disconnect manifold so attachments can be changed without shutting off the machine.

Skid-steer loader range
The JCB Robot range of skid-steer loaders are designed with a single loader arm and left side entry for safe, easy access to the operator’s compartment. The 190 model has a rated operating capacity of 1,985 pounds, 80 gross hp and a maximum operating weight of 7,717 pounds. An industry-approved quick-hitch is standard for easy utilization of attachments. Additionally, standard-flow and high-flow auxiliary options further expand the attachment options.

Skid-steer loader series
The new Caterpillar B2 Series of skid-steer loaders and multi-terrain loaders feature an improved operator station, an advanced hydraulic system and a wide range of standard features and options designed to meet a variety of production and comfort requirements in the compact machines. All B2 Series machines have ergonomic operator stations that feature easy-to-use pilot-operated joystick controls for reduced operator fatigue and increased productivity. High-performance power trains provide high engine horsepower and torque, allowing part-throttle operation for lower sound levels and fuel consumption.

Pumps
Compressor pump
Jenny Products introduces modifications to the design of its K pump. The single-stage compressor pump features new easy-access unloader pins, which reduce downtime. A new patent-pending crankcase breather system in the K Pump features a replaceable filter, allowing for the assembly to be cleaned rather than completely replaced. A new airfoil blade design on the wheel improves airflow across the pump for efficient cooling.

Submersible water pump
The CP 0010 submersible water pump from Chicago Pneumatic Construction Tools is designed for removing water from trenches, ditches, manholes and excavation sites. The 2-inch CP 0010 is a direct-driven, single-stage centrifugal pump that discharges between 125 and 250 gpm and has a lifting head of up to 90 feet. The pump can be completely submerged and requires 100 cfm of air for operation. The unit weighs 33 pounds and has a diameter of 9 inches.

Compaction Equipment
Single-drum vibratory rollers
Bomag has redesigned its 47-inch single-drum vibratory rollers and given them more standard features popular in the rental industry and among cost-conscious contractors. The series consists of two models — the BW124DH-40 smooth drum roller and the BW124PDH-40 padfoot roller. The compact design and an optional leveling blade of the BW124-40 series adds versatility to the series. The BW124-40 series is also designed to be easy to service and maintain. The vertically opening hood provides easy access to the engine and all components, and locks to prevent damage and vandalism. Hydraulic hoses are also protected. Recessed drum frame bolts permit operation near obstacles, and the dual-drum scrapers keep the drums clear of dirt and debris. The vibratory drum mechanism and spring-applied hydraulically released brakes are virtually maintenance free as well, the company says.

Rammer
The MTX60 rammer from Multiquip is powered by a Honda GX 100 gas engine and offers up to 695 blows per minute. The rammer also features an anti-vibration handle system, a built-in hourmeter/tachometer and a new cyclone air filtration system. The MTX60 comes equipped with a diagram carburetor for precise fuel measuring and a new recoil guard prevents recoil from impact damage.

Lawn & Garden Equipment
Stump cutter
The Rayco Manufacturing Super RG 50 stump cutter is 35 inches wide and features a quiet 4-cylinder Deutz diesel engine with 66 hp and 50 percent more torque than the standard RG 50. Full-time four-wheel drive makes getting to stumps easier, and turf-friendly rubber tires provide optimum performance in a wide variety of job conditions.

Rotation tillers
The all-new Reverse Rotation Tillers with counter-rotating tines from Woods Equipment Co. are designed to dig deeper and faster by pulling the tiller into the ground for applications with tough compacted soil. By eliminating the tendency to “walk” over hard ground, typical with forward-rotation tillers, the Reverse Rotation Tiller is designed to dig in to break and turn ground into rich, workable soil. The result is deeper and fluffier seedbeds than standard forward-rotation tillers, the company says. The tillers are equipped with a PTO slip clutch that protects their gearboxes and drive systems from costly repairs, should tines grab tough roots or rocks.

Seeder/Dethatcher
The SourceOne TurfSavr is designed to cut and seed in a single pass. It also doubles as a dethatcher with an optional de-thatching flail reel and removal of the seed box. The heat-treated carbon steel knives are tightly spaced to improve seed germination. There are multiple knife height settings for various turf conditions. Knives fully retract for transport and storage. TurfSavr is self-propelled with three forward operating speeds, plus reverse and neutral.

Product Spotlight
Atlas Copco Breaks Ground in Mexico
Constructora Villa de Aguayo is using Atlas Copco Construction Tools to rebuild the old Plaza Isauro Alfaro Otero in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, Mexico. This is where an underground shopping center with two car park levels and four movie rooms as well as an open-air theater above ground will be built in appropriate attractive surroundings.

A foundation pit (262.5 feet by 262.5 feet and 46 feet deep) was excavated. First of all some 52,493.4 cubic feet of earth were conventionally removed by means of excavators. Hydraulic breakers helped to crush 246,063 cubic feet of sandstone with a compressive strength of 93.7 tons per square foot. For this particular job the company rented an Atlas Copco HB 3000 from Madisa Rental, Tampico, together with an HB 2500. Both units belong to the heavy series of hydraulic breakers and were attached to type CAT 330 carrier units.

“The HB 3000 manages about 114.8 cubic feet per hour, the HB 2500 some 72.2 cubic feet per hour,” said Javier Argaez, site manager of Constructora Villa de Aguayo. “We are extremely satisfied with the performance of these hydraulic breakers.”

“Our Caterpillar excavator and the Atlas Copco hydraulic breakers are a perfect match,” says Armando Cueto, branch manager of Madisa Tampico. “Atlas Copco Mexicana is giving us the assistance we need.”

The whole project will be completed in December 2008. More than 85,301.8 square feet on four different levels will then have a completely new look. More than 300 vehicles can be parked on the two underground parking levels. One shopping level and the open-air theater above ground will then be completed.
