Earth-Moving
Utility loader
Compact Power introduces the 700 Series compact utility loaders — the 726DT, 732DT and the 749DT (pictured). All 700 models are equipped with hydrostatic transmissions, four-wheel drive for added traction and frame articulation that allows for maneuverability in tight spaces. Designed with a telescopic arm, the hinge pin height is able to reach more than 8 feet for the 726DT, more than 9 feet for the 732DT and more than 12 feet for the 749DT, making it easy to load dump trucks or for stacking pallets. Along with its telescopic arm, the 700 Series offers high lifting capacities and breakout forces. The compact loaders are built to handle more than 50 quick attachments such as augers, hydraulic hammers, pallet forks, forklift attachments, trenchers, soil cultivators, brooms, levelers, stump grinders, grapple buckets, backhoes attachments and cement mixers.

Crawler dozers
The D51EX-22 and D51PX-22 crawler dozers from Komatsu America are mid-size machines designed to work in general construction, site preparation, home building, forestry, utility and quarry applications. Both standard (EX) and low-ground pressure (PX) models are equipped with Komatsu’s 6.69-liter, Tier-3-certified engine that offers 130 hp at 2,200 rpm. The units range in operating weight from 27,778 to 28,881 pounds, depending on the machine version. The steering system provides smooth agile movement when dozing, even in gradual turns, allowing the dozers to approach objects accurately in corner grading and sidewall operations. Selection of either variable or Quick-shift speed control allows the dozers to run efficiently during fine or rough grading operations with optimal travel speeds to match job conditions and operator preferences. The D51-22 units also feature an extended undercarriage life with the auto-adjusting front idler guide, large links and large-diameter bushings for reduced undercarriage-maintenance costs.

Trailers
Dump trailer
U-Dump offers its most popular 6-foot by 10-foot dump trailer in either 7,000 GVW or 9,990 GVW. Other features include 25-inch sides or cut sides, 12-gauge steel, Dexter easy-lube axles, a 12-V Monarch hydraulic pump and hydraulic surge brakes.

Trailer system
The Retriever No Idle System from Up-N-Atom is a truck bed that can load and unload 30,000-pound payloads without using the truck engine. Retriever uses the truck’s air system rather than hydraulics to power deck operations. In rental equipment deliveries, the no Idle System is designed to reduce idling time by as much as 95 percent, producing substantially lower emissions, extending engine life and maintenance intervals on 2008 emissions systems, and generating significant fuel savings.

Lawn & Garden Equipment
Backpack blower
The new 130BT backpack blower from Husqvarna is designed to meet the needs of both homeowners and professionals. With a 30-cc engine, the 130BT produces an air flow of 360 cfm and a 145-mph wind speed through the tubes, giving it enough power to clear wet leaves. Compared to a standard two-stroke engine, the 130BT’s X-TORQ engine is engineered to deliver higher power, up to a 60-percent reduction in emissions and up to a 20-percent reduction in fuel consumption.

Stump cutter
The 27-hp Vermeer SC252 stump cutter includes an operator presence system to further protect the operator. Control handles for travel, swing and raise/lower functions are equipped with sensors that recognize the presence of the operator’s hands — if the operator’s hands leave the controls for more than half a second, the clutch will automatically disengage. The cutter wheel brake will engage and then “cutting wheel engaged” indicator light will begin flashing. If contact with the handles is resumed within 2 seconds while the cutting wheel indicator light is still flashing, the cutter wheel brake will release and operation may resume. If more than 2 seconds elapse without contact with the controls, the cutter wheel drive switch must be turned off and then returned to the on position to resume operation.

Self-propelled stump grinder
The Hawk self-propelled stump grinder from Hawk Equipment Corp. is designed for rental stores, landscapers and tree care companies. The Hawk is capable of grinding any stump diameter from a height of 24 inches down to 16 inches below grade. A positive locking free-wheel position eases machine transport and positive mechanical adjustment for hydrostatic drive belt tension simplifies maintenance.

Generators
Mobile generators
Doosan Infracore Portable Power introduces the Ingersoll Rand PowerSource mobile generators that offer a compact design tailored for performance, simplicity and value. New G90-G570 PowerSource models range from 94 to 570 kVA. PowerSource generators boast low noise signatures and are ideal for night work and noise-sensitive applications. Environmental skidbases provide a minimum 110-percent containment of all generator fluids for cleaner, safer worksites and minimizing potential for environmental contamination. All controls and connection points are grouped at the rear of the generator in an ergonomically designed power pedestal for convenience and safety. PowerSource generators are multi-voltage capable and feature voltage selector switch protection, an innovative solution to reduce downtime and costly generator damage. If the voltage selector switch is accessed during operation, the generator will immediately shut down to prevent switching under load.

Portable generator
Yamaha Motor Corp. introduces the EF4500iSE, a mid-size portable generator capable of running a small air compressor, circular saws and other hand tools. The EF4500iSE is designed for less noise and better fuel economy, and features an engine that allows for a low engine speed of 2,600 rpm. This low engine speed in turn reduces fuel consumption, noise, vibration and engine wear. In addition, the EF4500iSE features an easy-to-transport four-wheeled base, a fuel level gauge and an oil warning system to prevent engine damage.

Generator
Terex introduces the T360 Super Quiet Generator that is powered by a heavy-duty, 426-hp Cummins diesel engine and offers Tier-3 compliance to meet the latest environmental standards. The T360 offers 360 kilovolt amps, or 288 kW, of prime electrical output to provide operators the flexibility to power loads such as large tower cranes and pumps, or providing temporary power during electrical substation maintenance. The fuel capacity on the T360 offers operators 24 hours of continuous operation on one tank of fuel.

Other Products
Gen-set engines
John Deere Power Systems introduces three engines for use in gen-set applications — the PowerTech E 9.0L, 9.0L and 13.5L. The compact engines are targeted for the standby gen-set market, but will also be offered to the prime-power gen-set market. The PowerTech E 9.0L engine meets Tier-3 emissions regulations and has a maximum power rating of 315kW (422 hp). This engine features full-authority electronic controls, a fixed-geometry turbocharger and a high-pressure common-rail fuel system. These technologies offer improved cold-start performance and precise engine-speed control. The Stage II PowerTech 9.0L and 13.5L engines are new for 50-Hz gen-sets. The 9.0L engine has a maximum power rating of 304 kW (408 hp). The PowerTech 13.5L engine features the same technologies as the PowerTech E 9.0L except instead of the high-pressure common-rail fuel system it has an electronic unit injector fuel system.

Auger bucket attachment
The new auger bucket attachment from Danuser is designed for use with a skid-steer loader to reach difficult areas for footings, slabs, sidewalks, fence posts and sign posts. It can also be used to effectively fill sand bags, prepare bases for patios and sidewalks and repair asphalt pavement. The bucket’s capacity is ½ yard with a ¾-yard capacity optional hopper extension.
