Earth-Moving
Mini-excavator
The Vermeer CX254 mini-excavator weighs in at 11,023 pounds, measures 6.1 feet wide, features 19 feet of reach from the ground, a digging depth of 11.8 feet and bucket breakout force of 7,716 pounds. The CX254 is powered by a 52-hp Kubota diesel engine. The machine has a maximum digging height of 18.8 feet with a maximum dumping height of 13.2 feet. Combined with an independent-swing boom, the machine fits into close confines comfortably and works with ease around walls, footings and other obstacles. For expanded versatility, the boom swing angles to the left up to 55 degrees and to the right up to 80 degrees.

Lifting
Telescopic material handler
Volvo Road Machinery introduces the VR-1056C telescopic material handler. This C-Series model offers a 56-foot, 2-inch lift height and 41-foot, 6-inch forward reach. It is powered by a Tier 2 Cummins engine with electronic controls that are designed to improve power management. The VR-1056C also allows operators to extend the boom to its fullest reach without stabilizer deployment. It can carry 6,000 pounds to 56 feet, 2 inches with stabilizers, and 4,000 pounds to the top without stabilizers.

Telehandler
The www.jlg.com/default.asp SkyTrak model 8042 telehandler has a rated capacity of 8,000 pounds and a 6,000-pound capacity at its maximum lift height of 41 feet, 11 inches. At its 26-foot, 7-inch maximum reach, the capacity is 1,800 pounds. The 8042 comes equipped with 4-wheel drive and steer, a rear-axle stability system, 10-degree frame leveling and 4-speed modulated powershift transmission.

Air Tools
Chipping hammer
The Tamco chipping hammer 4-bolt from MTA Distributors features a D-type handle for strength and grip. The exhaust deflector diverts exhaust while providing a comfortable grip. The tool requires 28.2 cfm at 90 psi and produces 1,900 bpm.

Air tool
Ingersoll Rand introduces the Promaxx MX60 (pictured) and MX90. A Powr-Strok piston cycle transfers blow energy directly to the tool. Non-metallic materials eliminate rust and ensure consistent performance. Ergonomically designed handles, grips, throttle lever and housing help ensure maximum operator comfort. Operators can also choose exhaust air direction using the 360-degree rotation of the variable exhaust deflector.

Long-reach air tool
General Equipment's MDF15 long-reach air tool is designed for asbestos abatement, coating and acoustic tile removal, as well as a variety of surface cleaning and preparation applications. Producing 3,700 bpm while requiring a flow rate of 6 cfm at 90 psi, the MDF15 weighs less than 10 pounds without additional accessory tools. Other standard features include an ergonomically designed throttle valve with protective enclosure and a 60-inch whip hose.

Sirius Pro is a Windows-based rental management software from Orion Software that enables users to control activities, clients and inventories while integrating with accounting software packages such as QuickBooks. Orion Software also offers Sirius Lite, which focuses on the main aspects of rental management such as quotations, reservations, availability, contracts and invoicing, accounts receivable and inventory control.

Software update
Qualcomm introduces GlobalTRACS 4.0, a software and over-the-air firmware update resulting in two new major features -- maintenance profiles and curfew security. The new multiple maintenance profile feature provides notifications when maintenance is due for various types of service on a piece of equipment. Users can now identify multiple service points scheduled at different intervals. The new engine-start curfew function allows customers to define the acceptable range of time that an engine can run. Customers can also establish a time-sensitive electronic curfew boundary around each piece of their equipment.

Floorcare
Ride-on scraper
The Blastrac BMS-220BX ride-on scraper now has an extended battery life, lasting hours longer than similar ride-on scrapers available in the surface preparation industry. It is designed to run two to three hours on one charge, allowing higher productivity and longer run times between charges. It removes a variety of materials from concrete surfaces, including thick coatings such as epoxies and urethanes, adhesives, thin-set mortar and roofing material. It also successfully removes floor coverings such as VCT, carpet, marble, ceramic tile, vinyl, wood flooring, rubber and other materials.

Sander
The U-Sand from Cherryhill Manufacturing is a four-pad sander that uses a patented random orbit technology that enables it to sand without the risks of damaging a floor. The U-Sand is designed to take the place of three machines -- a drum sander, edger and buffer. Applications include hard-to-reach areas such as closets and hallways.
