Excavator
Kubota introduces the KX080-3
utility-class excavator, which is designed for work environments where
space is limited, but additional power, capacity and efficiency are
required. This 8-ton, tight-tailswing excavator offers more than 14,000
pounds of breakout force, along with versatility and additional
features. The KX080-3 can drive 14,660 pounds of bucket force and 8,554
pounds of arm crowd force, but still start easily in the cold while
maintaining fuel efficiency. A fuel-save that helps reduce noise and
exhaust emissions is the auto-idling system, which instinctively adjusts
engine revolutions per minute.

Lifting
Telescopic handlers
JCB introduces two low boom
Loadall telescopic handlers, which offer visibility and productivity
improvements. All-around visibility on the Loadall 535-125 HiViz and
535-140 HiViz models has improved by 10 percent, particularly to the
rear of the machines. In addition, the new machines have a more compact
rear chassis, which results in a 90mm reduction in overhang. The models
come standard with the 85-hp JCB Dieselmax engine, with the option of
100-hp engine or, later in 2007, the Tier 3-compliant 130-hp variant.

Walk-behind saws
Wacker's
new BFS series of walk-behind saws are designed to achieve better
cutting performance by placing the engine forward on the unit, directly
over the cutting area. The design better distributes the majority of the
machine's weight, allowing it to pull the saw forward with less effort
and providing straighter, more stable and faster cuts. A long-life,
state-of-the-art poly V-belt provides direct power transmission from the
engine to the cutting shaft. Double-sealed bearings keep concrete and
dust out reducing maintenance and prolonging the life of the bearings.
The saws also include a vibration damping ergonomic handle system.

Vibratory plate
compactors
Arrow-Master offers a line
of vibratory plate compactors, with models for both asphalt and
soil/granular compaction. Each unit has a reversible guide handle and
double-formed leading edge for improved climbing. The protective roll
bar gives engine and component protection with a balanced attachment
point at the center for lifting. The P-Series compactors have travel
rates up to 135 feet per minute and centrifugal forces ranging from
2,500 to 5,300 pounds.

Chipper attachment
Bobcat's 8B high-flow chipper
attachment is designed for optimal performance when grinding through
branches, trees and limbs. The attachment reduces branch volume 10 to 1,
limiting trips to the dumpsite and improving wood decomposition. The
chipper also has several new features, including a variable gpm setting,
a reset override system and a smart valve and pressure valve to maximize
performance. Unlike pull-type chippers, the 8B can be placed in
backyards and remote areas because of the size and maneuverability of a
Bobcat loader or utility work machine.

Semi-trash pumps
Suitable for handling water with small solids and light debris, Subaru Robin semi-trash pumps
offer a heavy-duty overhead-valve gasoline engine, a large volute
discharge opening and dependable performance. The 2-inch PKX201ST has a
4.5-hp engine and provides a delivery volume of 153 gpm. The 3-inch
PKX301ST has a 6-hp engine and offers a delivery volume of 246 gpm. The
pump and engine are built as an integrated unit to provide maximum
performance and dependability.

Computer software
SmartEquip introduces the
SE Warranty module to the SmartEquip Efficiency Suite. SE Warranty
standardizes the process of submitting and receiving warranty claims,
enabling consistent management of warranty processes, communications and
status updates. Features include warranty claim creation that prompts
for all required information, including model number, serial number,
service date and service hours, so that the claim is submitted
accurately and completely. Claim status updates can be viewed to track
the progress of warranty submission. The module is available to fleet
owners who implement SmartEquip's e-FleetPro and for OEMs who utilize
the company's product support suite.

Mobile heating system
The OHV-LP/NG Frost Fighter from Topp Portable Air is a mobile
indirect-fired heating system designed to provide clean air free from
moisture and contaminated fumes. The OHV series offers an efficient
heating range from 420,000 to 450,000 Btu per hour with the added option
of three different fuel types. Energy-efficient, independent air inlets
for both heated and combustion air result in quicker winter starts. A
remote thermostat provides constant temperature settings and monitoring,
and available quick-connect ducts disburse heated air over large areas.

Demolition tools
The Redline Series from Kent Demolition Tools includes
the KFS-3 floor scraper, paving breakers, the K600 mini rivet buster,
the KCB series chippers and the RD75-1 rock drill. The KFS-3 floor
scraper is designed for use in upright or long reach applications. The
K600 mini rivet buster has a strong steel D-type handle, a lightweight
rubber muffler and a piston designed to stay inside the hammer. The
RD75-1 rock drill can be used in concrete or rock for depths of 8 feet
or more. Each tool features four-bolt, ergonomically designed handles
for operator comfort and rigid connection to the cylinder.

Floor sander
The Essex Silver-Line
Corp. SL8V2 1.5-hp floor sander uses hook and loop technology for
paper attachment without any tools required. It is designed so that
users can install even the heaviest grits of 12 and 16 with ease. In
addition, the capacitor motor on the SL8V2 runs on low amps.
