Earth-Moving
Mini-excavator
The 12 mini-excavators from IHI are small excavators with digging depths of 5 feet, 2 inches to 14 feet, 1 inch. The machines feature bucket forces from 2,160 to 14,730 pounds. The smaller units are designed for homeowners with a yard project and for small utility contractions. The IHI mini-excavator line offers versatility with three styles of excavators, and even with compact designs, the excavators have all of the features of a larger mini-excavator.

Zero-swing excavator
Takeuchi introduces the TB138FR zero-swing excavator to its line of excavators. This model features a patented side-to-side offset boom system combined with a zero-tail swing that allows the machine to turn 360 degrees. A low center of gravity offers the stability and craning capabilities of conventional excavators and the added functionality of working in confined areas. A tilt-up operator's platform combined with a full-opening engine compartment offers quick access for service and maintenance. An electrohydraulic push-button and proportional slide switch located in the left-hand joystick ensures precise control of the auxiliary hydraulic circuit.

Rubber-track loader
A hydraulically adjustable sod roll installer is available for the ASV RC-30 rubber track loader. The RC-30, with 11-inch wide rubber tracks and 2.5-psi ground pressure, is designed to be productive enough to maximize the amount of sod placed and gentle on the ground to prevent damage to fragile sod. Its compact size and maneuverability allows the RC-30 to pass through gates to work in confined areas.

Lifting
Elevating mast platform
The Model 1230ES elevating mast platform from JLG Industries features a 12-foot platform height and a 500-pound platform capacity. The platform, which stows to 30 inches wide by 65 1/4-inches high and weighs 1,740 pounds, can easily be moved in most freight elevators and maneuvered through confined areas with an inside turning radius of 5 inches.

Engines
Komatsu America is gradually introducing its Tier 3 engines, which will reduce nitrogen oxides and particulate matter emissions while improving fuel efficiency. The new engines incorporate improvements to the combustion chambers for better air/fuel mixing and optimal combustion. These designs set the stage for compliance with future Tier 4 regulations. This technology allows the small-size engines to be compliant without adding further systems. For the mid-size engines, Komatsu applies the heavy-duty cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation system, which reduces NOx emissions without sacrificing fuel economy, the company says. The high-capacity, heavy-duty twin-valve cooled EGR system features intake air bypass for high-load and wider speed usage, precision electronic-controlled hydraulic twin valves and a durable EGR cooler for operation in rough environments.

Air compressor
Kraft Tool introduces the professional oil-less texture air compressor and spray cart. The motor and compressor are combined into a single design. The unit delivers 7 cfm of oil-free air at 25 psi and comes equipped with hose and texture gun/hopper. The cart features a telescoping handle for easy jobsite transport.
