Product Spotlight
Demolition hammer
Kent Demolition Tools
introduces the KF 6 TLB demolition hammer, which features the patented
Switch-Hitch side plate mounting system for rubber-tired backhoes. An
indexing disc inserted in the side plate can be easily changed to
accommodate quick couplers for various backhoes. The KF 6 also comes in
the Qt version to accommodate work environments that demand a reduced
noise level. The mid-size hammer is engineered with a higher back head
pressure and larger pistons for an increase in impact energy of 20 to 30
percent.

Breakers
Requiring between 53 and 83 cfm of free air delivery at 90 psi, the
TEX PE breakers from Atlas Copco
Construction Tools produce between 1,100 and 1,470 bpm. The
breakers' high power-to-weight ratio and low center of gravity allow for
easy handling and operator balance, helping to reduce operator fatigue.
Ranging in weight from 40 to 93 pounds, six models comprise the line of
ergonomic pneumatic breakers. Each model features a hand and arm
protection system, which reduces vibrations by up to 75 percent,
according to the company.

Breakers
Wacker
introduces a new generation of breakers that produce more power and
reduce hand/arm vibration. The BH 24 features a piston and striker with
a reconfigured shape that reduces the weight of the unit and increases
the velocity to make for a harder hitting breaker. Because of the air
percussion system, the striking mechanism directly hits the tool,
reducing the amount of vibration that bounces back to the operator. The
BH 24 is powered by an EPA-certified Wacker 2-cycle WM 80 engine, which
is specifically designed to withstand tough applications of the
construction industry. The self-contained BH 24 does not require a
generator or compressor, making it suitable for use in hard-to-access
areas.

Hydraulic impact hammer
Allied Construction Products
introduces the addition of the Model AR 70C to its AR series hydraulic
impact hammer product line. The AR 70C is a 538-pound hammer that mounts
quickly on a mini excavator. It also adapts to a skid steer with
mounting bracket configurations and two-position brackets for increased
productivity. The hammer also features steady blow energy for maximum
breaking power as well as straight hydraulic hose fittings for reliable
and leak-free connections. A wide assortment of demolition and specialty
tools are available to match the job.

Demolition hammer
The D25980K from DeWalt is
equipped with metal, automotive-style seals on the ram and piston, which
help to prevent dust and debris from entering the unit. The unit
features a two-year service warranty. The breaker is designed with
easy-to-access brushes and screws that users can service right on the
jobsite. It features a vibration measurement of 6.6 meters per second
squared. The D25980K includes a hammer truck so that users can easily
transport the breaker. This multi-purpose cart allows the user to
transport the breaker without having to remove the bit from the unit.

Mounted breaker
Stanley Hydraulic
Tools introduces the MB 10 mounted breaker, which features a
direct-acting nitrogen chamber operating at low pressure for long-term
reliability. The MB 10, at 1,000 foot-pounds, features an increase in
hitting power and efficiency over its predecessor, the MB 965, without
adding weight. The MB 10 is fully boxed, providing quieter operation and
better protection. The unit is also supported by urethane upper, side
and lower bumpers for vibration dampening, which reduces vibration back
to the base machine. The breaker weighs 1,050 pounds and is designed for
use on rubber-tired backhoe loaders and excavators weighing 14,000 to
26,000 pounds.

Hydraulic hammers
The H35Ds (pictured) and H45Ds hydraulic hammers from Caterpillar feature enclosed
housing to protect the power cell, eliminate side plate bolts and reduce
sounds levels. The H45Ds replaces the H45/H45s hammers. It is in the
300-foot-pound class for power and provides 2,300 bpm. The H35Ds is in
the 150-foot-pound class and provides 2,900 bpm. The H35Ds has a working
weight of 231 pounds and a recommended carrier weight of 2,425 to 5,292
pounds.

Hydraulic breaker
The Bobcat HB1180 hydraulic
breaker attachment meets the 750 foot-pound impact energy class. The
breaker is designed for easy mounting and is approved for use on Bobcat
skid-steer loaders, compact-track loaders, all-wheel-steer loaders and
compact excavators. Features on the HB1180 include a breaker cradle that
improves access in tight spaces, a shield that protects hoses and
fittings from damage, and upper and lower shock absorbers that help
reduce noise and vibration.

Breaker hammer
The Jack 11335 breaker hammer from Bosch Power Tools and Accessories
hits at 34 foot-pounds of impact force and weighs 35 pounds. The Jack
comes equipped with an active vibration-reduction handle, which features
a flexible two-handed design. In addition to vibration reduction, the
Jack is also designed with maximum comfort and control with an
articulating auxiliary handle to maintain a working posture. The breaker
hammer comes with the new Bosch self-sharpening star-point hex chisel.
It also accommodates all standard 1 1/8-inch hex steel and 1 1/8-inch
air steel chisels.

Hammer drill
Metabo introduces the SBE1010
Plus 1/2-inch hammer drill for increased productivity in a variety of
drilling applications. The hammer drill's side handle can be rotated 360
degrees and is ergonomically designed to counteract the torque of the
tool when drilling into hard materials, giving the operator greater
control of the tool to drill straighter, rounder holes. Useful for
drilling holes in steel, wood, concrete block, brick and solid concrete,
the SBE1010 Plus has a capacity of 3/4 inch in concrete, 5/8 inch in
mild steel and 1 1/2 inch in softwood. The hammer drill has an input
rating of 1,010 watts and a maximum tightening torque of 248
inch-pounds.

Hand-held breakers
Featuring an advanced vibration reduction system, the CP 1210
hand-held breaker series from Chicago Pneumatic
Construction Tools offers features to enhance operator comfort and
tool control, as well as increased power to match the performance of
heavier breakers. The 35-pound class breaker is suited for light to
medium demolition of floors, pavement, frozen ground and masonry walls.
The CP 1210 requires 59 cfm of air and delivers 1,400 bpm. The breakers
are offered in three versions of basic, silenced and vibration-reduced.

Hammer
The Arrow Hammer Model 1350 from Arrow-Master is a pneumatic-tired,
mobile hydraulic hammer that operates both on and off paved surfaces. An
80-hp John Deere diesel engine provides power for the hammer and a
standard synchromesh transmission allows the machine to be driven at
speeds up to 20 mph. The 1350 breaks, cuts and scores concrete, rock and
asphalt into sizes suitable for excavation, recovery, or cracking and
seating. It also compacts and tamps backfill, with adjustable impact up
to 13,000 foot-pounds.
