Earth-Moving
Compact excavator
The Hitachi Zaxis 17U-2 compact excavator (upgrade of the EX17U) comes equipped with adjustable-width tracks and a backfill blade with foldable end sections. Both features reduce the overall width to 40 inches. When fully extended to more than 50 inches, the undercarriage provides stability for operations. In addition to the adjustable-width feature, the reduced tail-swing ZX17U-2 also boasts improved performance specs, rugged construction, more operator comfort, long service intervals and improved fuel economy.

Trencher attachment
Bobcat's LT414 trencher attachment features a 4- or 5-foot dig depth and is approved for operation on various Bobcat compact loaders with a high-flow auxiliary hydraulic system. The LT414 trencher is designed for medium- to high-production trenching applications such as utility installation projects. Standard with hydraulic side-shift, the trencher is built to achieve optimal productivity in all ground conditions, from black dirt to gravel. The side-shift feature provides the operator with flexibility when working next to buildings. The trencher also features a larger diameter auger with a tapered design that removes more material from the side of the trench, limiting the amount of spoil falling back into the trench.

Skid-steer loader
New Holland's new L175 skid-steer loader features a 60 gross hp turbocharged engine, with a 2,000-pound SAE-rated operating capacity and a bucket breakout force of 4,300 pounds. The L175 has an operating weight of 6,230 pounds and reaches a full 10-foot lift height and 29 inches of forward reach. With rated operating capacities from 600 to 2,800 pounds, New Holland's nine skid-steer models can tackle a variety of landscaping, construction, demolition or farming applications.

Lifting
Work platform
JLG introduces a new personnel work platform for use with its JLG, Gradall, Lull and SkyTrack telehandlers. The attachment, compliant with ANSI standards, is a fork-mounted unit designed to be quickly installed and locked into place. The personnel work platform provides a safe approach to lift workers to hard-to-reach areas. The use of the platform on JLG-brand telehandlers allows workers to be lifted as high as 55 feet on rough-terrain sites where access with alternative equipment could be difficult. The 32-square-foot platform features a 1,000-pound capacity designed to comfortably and safely hold two people. The platform features a swing-gate entry with a removable front panel. The platform has steel mesh flooring and eight lanyard-attachment points.

For Contractors
Silo mixers
The Stone Champion Silo Mixer line from Stone Construction Equipment is composed of two models -- SM1200 and SM2000 -- with capacities of 12 cubic feet and 20 cubic feet respectively. The silo mixers provide maximum productivity for large commercial and industrial jobs, both with silos or where the productivity afforded by the larger capacities is a requirement. The mixers are designed for jobs where mortar, grout, plaster and color mixers are supplied in pre-blended bulk bags. The mixers include adjustable legs to position them within any silo footprint. The mixers are designed with several patented features including Stone's Power Blend system, removable seals and bearing housing, and the seals and bearing configuration.

Walk-behind saws
Wacker's new series of walk-behind saws offers easy operation, longer life and reduced maintenance for pavement cutting applications. A poly V-belt provides direct power transmission from the engine to the cutting shaft, while double-sealed bearings keep concrete and dust out of the engine. Other features include a vibration damping ergonomic handle system that makes individual adjustments to the handle width and height possible, allowing for optimum operator comfort and control of the unit. The central lifting point is integrated into the durable protective cage, and the folding guide handles makes transporting the machine easy. The standard models are available in 14-inch and 18-inch blade guard diameters.

Automated cone truck
The Automated Cone Truck (ACT) from Kiely Equipment Co. is fully automated to install and dismantle lane closures utilizing only a single in-can operator. Operations can be performed from both the driver side, and passenger side of the ACT. The Automated Cone Truck can help maximize safety, increase reliability and lower the cost of operation. The standard 14-foot model can hold 240 cones and it can close up to 4 miles. The operator remains in the cab and no other employee is needed. ACT also retrieves knocked down cones regardless of their position on the roadway. The operator can automatically switch cone spacing during operation and ACT can be equipped with taper kits and custom racks.

Hydraulic hammer
Caterpillar's H65Ds hydraulic hammer is the company's largest hammer option for compact equipment users. It expands the Caterpillar solutions available to users of machines located in the 700-foot-pounds energy class and 2,000-bpm impact frequency. The H65Ds improves on the technology used in the H55Ds hammer introduced in 2005. These innovations include recoil isolation to protect the carrier from damaging reflective forces, one-piece body that eliminates tie rods, and ultra-high blow rate for greater productivity in concrete and asphalt applications. The new hammer is compatible with the Caterpillar pin-grabber quick-coupler system. Standard sound suppression improves operator comfort and environmental protection.
