Earth-Moving
Trencher
The Caterpillar T6B
trencher has a 36-inch boom for applications that don't require the
digging depth of the more powerful Cat trenchers. The T6B is designed to
work with standard-flow hydraulics. The direct-drive motor provides a
balance of chain speed, torque and chain pull for maximum productivity
in a variety of soil types. Cutting widths offered by the adjustable
boom are 6, 8, 10 and 12 inches. The T6B offers optional manual or
hydraulic side shift for close trenching near structures. Maximum side
shift is 22 inches to the right of center. A large, adjustable auger
handles spoil removal, and an optional bolt-on crumber bar guides loose
spoil away from the trench.

Backhoe loaders
Komatsu America
introduces the WB146-5 (pictured) and the WB146PS-5 backhoe loaders with
Tier-2 engines. Both machines have an operating weight of 16,090 pounds.
The WB146-5 is powered by a turbocharged Komatsu S4D102LE-2 flywheel
88-hp engine. The drivetrain includes a 4-speed synchro-shuttle
transmission with standard 4-wheel drive for traction in soft soil
applications. The WB146PS-5 includes a full PowerShift transmission with
twist grip gear control. The new S-shaped backhoe boom is narrower and
stronger for visibility, increased lifting capacity, enhanced truck
loading and improved breakout force.

Lifting
Equipment lift
The SnapTrac from Kundel
Industries is designed to lift and move anything up to a 1,000
pounds easily and effortlessly. Whether working on a hot rod, repairing
a machine or running full production, SnapTrac's ever expandable design
allows the user to bolt sections together, turning the base model into a
complete system. Crane kits come in 8-foot and 12-foot sections. The
system can be ceiling hung or post-mounted. Posts are sold separately.

Telescopic handler
Mustang Manufacturing
introduces a new telescopic handler to its product line. The 842 has a
42-foot lift height and offers customers a four-story machine with a
little extra reach at a lower price point than the company's 844 model.
The unit is engineered for smaller commercial construction projects and
is available with a patented work platform system. When the WPS is
activated, the system senses the attitude of the machine, neutralizes
the transmission, applies the parking brake, disables the fork tilt and
auxiliary hydraulic circuits, and restricts use of the frame-leveling
circuit, providing platform workers with a safe, stable environment.

For Contractors
Asphalt roller
Stone Construction
Equipment's WolfPac asphalt rollers -- WP4100, WP3100 and WP3100D
(pictured) -- are available with an optional foldable roll-over
protection system (ROPS). This increases the rollers' versatility for a
wide variety of confined areas including garages and parking structures
where low heights can create obstacles. When folded to 73 inches, the
operator can back the roller into a garage or other structure to get
optimum coverage of the area being compacted. Even with the ROPS folded,
the machine maintains its safety rating. The foldable ROPS is also
designed to make the rollers easier and less costly to transport on
standard trailers because there is no need for a tall, swing-door
trailer.

Utility vehicle
The new Bobcat 4-wheel-drive
2300 features a front attachment arm that can be equipped with several
attachments. Currently the 2300 utility vehicle can be equipped with
five different specially designed Bobcat attachments: bucket, mower,
pallet fork, snow mover and whisker push broom. A joystick control
located in the center console of the utility vehicle controls the
attachment arm and attachments. The simple design of the exclusive
RapidLink attachment arm is engineered to be easy to hook up and use. A
20-hp diesel engine powers the utility vehicle.

Portable generators
Wacker's
new line of generators offers dependable power when and where it is
needed. The eight models range from 2,500 to 6,600 watts and are
designed for voltage regulation and motor starting ability, allowing
operators the ability to start larger tools. The GP line offers a
compact design, but a heavy-duty one-piece frame provides full
protection. These generators are also quiet thanks to a large muffler
and an auto idle control with time delay on the larger units
automatically reduces the engine to a low speed, reducing fuel
consumption, noise and wear on the connected electrical loads.

For Homeowners/Light Contractors
Trencher
With a compact design and simple features, the Vermeer hydrostatic RT350 is designed
to help rental centers cater to weekend do-it-yourself rental customers,
and contractors tackling smaller projects. A step up in size from
walk-behind trenchers, the RT350's backfill blade adjusted in the float
position can backfill trenches, giving projects a more finished look.
Powered by a 37-hp Cummins A1700 engine, the RT350 offers a
disc/calipher park brake, a 42-inch wheelbase and cutters supported by
bolts through both side plates of the trencher chain assembly. Capable
of trenching depths to 48 inches, the RT350 can trench widths from 4 to
12 inches.

Trailers
Triple-L trailers from JLG
incorporate the Power Deck hydraulic system that allows the operator to
lower and raise the deck hydraulically in less than 15 seconds, ensuring
that one person can handle the loading and unloading of cargo. The
trailer capacities range from 2,000 to 10,000 pounds and deck sizes are
as large as 4-feet, 4-inches by 16-feet long. Standard features include
two lockable steel compartments, a quick-adjust tongue jack, heavy-duty
tie-down rings, and a 12-volt system that powers the hydraulic pump used
to lower and raise the deck.

Auger
MacKissic introduces the
Easy Auger II, which features the patented Maximum Drive system that
delivers more torque needed to penetrate rocks and soil that are
difficult to drill. The Easy Auger II is available in push and
self-propelled models. It also features extra-wide pneumatic tires, a
swiveling engine cradle and is towable.
