Earth-Moving
Walk-behind trenchers
The self-propelled Turf Teq 1305, 1305SP and 1305SP1 (pictured) are walk-behind trenchers that can trench up to 5 feet deep. Two blades are offered for cutting widths of 1/2 inch and 2 inches. The unit features a 13-hp Honda engine and a hydrostatic forward and reverse transmission. The SideWinder trenchers also have multi-use capability as a landscape bed edger, rotary broom and power rake.

Compact excavator
The 55NX is the newest addition to the IHI mini-excavator lineup. The 55NX is an 11,700-pound zero-tail-swing unit with a digging depth of 12 feet, 5 inches and a digging force of 10,850 pounds. Standard equipment includes a Yanmar 37.1-hp engine, 4-post canopy, rubber tracks, auxiliary hydraulic piping, pattern change valve, suspension seat, armrest and backfill blade.

Backhoe loaders
Komatsu's new WB156-5 (pictured) and WB156PS-5 backhoe loaders have operating weights between 16,530 and 18,780 pounds. The operator station has been redesigned to provide maximum comfort for any operator. Standard backhoe-pressure, proportional-control joysticks and adjustable-control towers with integrated wrist rests allow the operator to achieve maximum comfort and control.

Drilling attachment system
General Equipment introduces the model 471 Dig-R-Tach hydraulically powered earth drilling attachment system, which is designed for use with lower-auxiliary hydraulic system flow rates found on compact loader backhoes, mini-excavators and compact utility loaders. The 471 Dig-R-Tach system enhances the versatility of compact loader backhoes by allowing them to become practical and productive options for many hole-digging projects. The system features a universal mounting bracket that readily conforms to a wide variety of loader bucket configurations. Featuring an industry-standard 2-inch hexagon auger drive connection, the 471 Dig-R-Tach is able to accommodate existing augers found in most equipment fleets.

Lifting
Telescopic boom
Genie's new S-60HC telescopic boom is designed to deliver the highest load capacities in the industry. The closest competitive unit (called 'dual capacity') offers 500 pounds unrestricted and 1,000 pounds restricted range of motion. The 3-person platform on Genie's new S-60HC is rated for 750 pounds, 50-percent more capacity throughout the entire operating envelope. It also supports platform loads up to 1,250 pounds -- 25-percent more load capacity -- in the maximum capacity zone at 40 feet, 8 inches. The S-60HC features envelope control through sensors that automatically limit the range of motion based on the load in the platform for safe and productive operation.

Articulating boom
The HA 130 JRT 130-foot articulating boom from Haulotte Group is designed to use its high articulation point of 58 feet, 3 inches, to negotiate around obstacles, and to use the boom articulations design to come back down without using the arm. The HA 130 JRT also features a maximum 63-foot horizontal outreach; standard 4-wheel drive and steer; extending and oscillating axles; and continuous outreach control. It also offers a hydraulic differential lock and 15-inch ground clearance for improved rough-terrain capability. Full proportional controls and simultaneous boom functions improve functionality. Working area is improved via a positive/negative movement articulated fly jib with 140-degree arc of movement.

For Contractors
Roller tube finisher
The Allen Engineering roller tube finisher utilizes a spinning tube constructed of 6-inch diameter structural steel with a rotation speed of up to 250 rpm. The spinning tube has a weight of 7 pounds per linear foot and can be handled by only two operators. If more weight is needed, the tube can be filled with water. Powered by either an 85-cc, 2-cycle engine power unit or an 11-hp, 4.5-gallon per minute hydraulic power unit, the roller tube finisher can also be used in many other concrete-paving and flooring applications.

Platform
The TX platform from Toro bolts onto certain Dingo models to help decrease operator fatigue and increase comfort. The platform pivots up and down to float with uneven terrain, providing a stable and level platform. A rubber pad at its hinge point reduces transmission of vibration to the user.

Single-disc grinder
Edco introduces its new, innovative single-disc grinder. This unit features a new round shroud that allows the user to grind tight against any vertical surface; has large 10-inch wheels; and has a solid T-handle assembly that makes it easy for the operator to control. The new lifting bail and side-mounted handles also make it easier to load and unload at the jobsite. The new 25-foot power cord enables the operator to plug and grind, and the new accessory toolbox tray will help keep grinder accessories organized.
