Earth-Moving
Stockpiling system
The Extec E-7 screen is a
heavy-duty, track-mounted, self-propelled, open-flow screening and
stockpiling system that is designed to offer users performance and
productivity for high-volume recycling and re-usable demolition
material. The Extec E-7 has a high-output capacity capable of a material
throughput of up to 600 tons per hour, depending on material, feed size,
bucket size and particle content. Once demolition has taken place,
material is loaded by excavator into the feeder where material is
transferred to the screening area. The material, which consists of heavy
clay, brick, stone, concrete and topsoil, passes over the screen box
where smaller material will fall through the top deck and onto the
bottom deck.

Backhoe attachment
The Toro Dingo backhoe attachment
offers powerful digging performance in a compact design and is designed
for a variety of applications such as digging, loading, trenching,
backfilling and demolition. The backhoe comes standard with a
13-inch-wide bucket and features a maximum digging depth of 82 inches.
The unit also offers a 71-inch loading height and 113-inch loading reach
from the swing pivot. The backhoe folds up to 34.5 inches wide, adding
ease to transportation and access to confined spaces. For increased
durability, it features replaceable swing-cylinder bushings and hardened
pins on the boom and crowd arm.

Compact excavator
Bobcat introduces the 425 ZTS
compact excavator, which is designed for contractors needing a
zero-tail-swing (ZTS) excavator in the 2- to 3-metric-ton size class. A
long-arm configuration of the 425 is also available for those needing
added dig depth and reach. The 425 standard-arm excavator delivers a
maximum digging depth of 8 feet, 4 inches and a maximum reach of 14 feet
10 inches at ground level, while the 425 long-arm option has a maximum
digging depth of 9 feet, 4 inches and a maximum reach of 15 feet, 9
inches at ground level. Both models are powered by a 26-hp liquid-cooled
diesel engine and feature 2-speed travel motors.

Scraper tractor
The John Deere earthmoving
system includes 375- to 450-hp scraper tractors, pull-type scrapers and
the AutoLoad control system. AutoLoad automates the scraper's hydraulic
lift functions during loading. Once activated, it automatically adjusts
the scraper's cutting edge height and loads material without operator
intervention. The scraper tractors and pull-type scrapers are built to
handle the everyday rigors of the earthmoving business. Choose from 10
scraper models that move up to 42 cubic yards of material, in tandem,
per cycle.

Hydraulic hammer
The Arrow Hammer Model 1350 from Arrow-Master is a pneumatic-tired,
mobile hydraulic hammer that operates both on and off paved surfaces. An
80-hp John Deere diesel engine provides power for the Arrow Hammer. The
standard synchromesh transmission allows the machine to be driven at
speeds up to 20 mph. During operation, the unit propels itself through a
hydraulically controlled creeper gear, providing speeds up to 63 feet
per minute. It breaks, cuts and scores concrete, rock and asphalt into
sizes suitable for excavation, recovery or cracking and seating.

Ground heater
Douglass, the manufacturer
of Thawzall products, introduces the Xtreme Heat, which features a
Burnham 1 million-plus Btu/hour boiler. Xtreme Heat is sheeted and
trimmed with aluminum, as are all Thawzall models. Four accessory-unit
heaters are included as standard, and each accessory-unit heater
provides 250,000 Btu/hour with a three-speed controlled 3,200-cfm
blower. The Xtreme Heat is fume free and has a low noise level. In
addition to temporary heating, Xtreme Heat also has ground defrosting
and concrete-curing capabilities.

Generator program
Baldor's Mod Express program,
which takes a stock product and adds modifications, has now been
extended to stock gaseous liquid-cooled (GLC) generator sets. Baldor's
new GLC generator mod express program sets the stage for a fundamental
shift in the way the company can help generator customers through its
service offerings. Configured for permanent standby power applications,
Baldor GLC 30-100 kW natural gas and LP Vapor generator sets are built
as stock open skid-mount units and designed for adding several custom
modifications. The customer chooses a rating, chooses the options that
will meet his or her specifications and specifies a ship date. At the
Baldor factory, the order is assembled in a matter of hours using
pre-engineered product combinations designed to interface with several
ratings. The new GLC Mod Express designs maximize flexibility and
minimize setup.

Asphalt roller
The Stone WolfPac 4100, from Stone Construction Equipment, is a
40-inch wide, double-drum drive, double-drum vibration asphalt roller.
It is designed for compacting base, binder and finish coats of asphalt
in confined areas. Its exclusive design allows the operator to direct
the vibration to both drums, the front drum or the rear drum. A
specially designed electro-hydraulic circuit combined with a
custom-designed manifold allows the operator to activate the vibration
where needed. The 24-hp Kubota diesel engine provides added power. With
4,000 pounds of impact per drum, the roller is best suited for parking
lots and other confined areas and paved surfaces where impact and
maneuverability count.

Vacuum
The BDC-1216 industrial grade dust collector, from Blastrac, is a compact, low-profile dry
vacuum that can be used for a wide range of hand tools, small
walk-behind scarifiers, concrete grinders and shot blasters. The
BDC-1216 is designed to provide a cleaner work environment by reducing
airborne dust. The dust collector weighs 88 pounds and has a dust-pan
capacity of 10.5 gallons. This 110-volt unit has a combined power of 1.6
KW, delivering professional-grade results through a standard residential
power source.
"The BDC-1216 is versatile enough to use with any dry dust management
and it eliminates the need for rental companies and customers to stock
multiple vacuums for their rental inventory," says Matt Shorrock,
product manager of wheel-blast equipment for Blastrac Global. "It has a
loose pleat filter and a manual shaker that can be operated each time
the dust bin is emptied for continuous operation without direct exposure
to the filter and dust."
