Tractor loader backhoe
John Deere's 110 tractor
loader backhoe is designed to provide power, productivity and
versatility to landscape and construction applications. Featuring a
43-hp Yanmar diesel engine and direct fuel injection, the 110 TLB starts
quickly, even in cold weather, and complies with Tier 2 emissions
requirements. It also offers the LoadMatch load-sensing drive system to
minimize stalling and maximize productivity. Standard skid-steer
mounting plates accept skid-steer attachments in front, and provide
optional auxiliary hydraulic functions and an optional quick coupler for
backhoe buckets.
Leon White, superintendent of parks and grounds for the city of
Hammond, La., used the 110 TLB for cleanup after Hurricane Katrina
struck last year. "After Katrina hit we needed to clear streets and
driveways of debris so people could start moving around," White says.
"When we purchased the 110, we had the regular digging bucket that was
great for pushing debris, but we also needed something to pick up the
larger tree limbs. After the storm, we were able to find a grapple
bucket that enabled us to pick up and move the large trees with ease."

Lifting
Lift gate
Leyman Lift Gates
introduces the external sprinter van lift gate. The LCS1320 is designed
with a vertical fold aluminum platform, which enables the user to open
and enter the right rear door without lift gate movement. The lift gate
remains in the over-the-road positions while entering the right rear
door of the van. When the use of the gate is required, the vertical fold
platform opens to a width of 52 inches and has a depth of 71 inches on
2007 models.

For Contractors
Walk-behind trowel line
Wacker's
new walk-behind trowel line offers improved operator safety,
productivity and comfort. A patented gyroscopic safety sensor and
gearbox brake stops the handle rotation with 270 degrees, protecting the
operator from a spinning handle. The dynamically balanced design reduces
the force required by the operator by as much as 50 percent and improves
ease of operation, reducing fatigue and increasing production. A new
handle design offers maximum control and comfort, increasing
productivity. Four models are available in the series, two 36-inch and
two 48-inch diameter models with the choice of a Honda or Wacker engine.

Pump
The new Tsurumi Pump
HS3.75 is designed to pump sands, solids and debris with minimal wear
and clogging. Features include a built-in shaft-mounted agitator that
suspends solids; a urethane semi-vortex impeller for maximum durability
and maintaining pump performance; and a double inside mechanical seal
with SiC faces to provide long operational life. In addition, a
patent-pending oil lifter provides lubrication of the seal faces, and a
V-ring seal protector protects the mechanical seal from abrasive
particles.

Welding generator
Miller Electric Mfg.
introduces its Bobcat 250 diesel engine-driven welding generator.
Powered by a 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled Kubota diesel engine that
produces 19 hp at 3,600 rpm, the Bobcat 250 diesel offers a fully
enclosed case, tough protective armor on the front panel and an
Accu-rated 10,000 watts of useable peak generator power. The Kubota
engine features two standard shutdowns: low oil pressure and high
coolant temperature. New meters for maintenance monitor and display
engine shutdown conditions, engine hours and oil-change interval.

For Homeowners/Light Contractors
Grabbing tool
Star Hill's Jawz
hydraulic grabbing tool was originally developed to remove invasive
plants when other methods, such as a bucket and thumb, weren't able to
effectively do the job. The attachment can also be used for other land
management tasks, such as fence post removal, hedgerow removal, rock
picking, and moving irregular objects.
Stuart Cave, Star Hill sales manager, says the grabbing tool works
precisely and efficiently in a variety of land management applications
and it allows boulders to be moved safely. "Using Jawz to precisely
grab, move, and place the boulders results in a one-man operation while
seated safely on the equipment," he says.
