  • For Contractors
    Concrete chain saw
A new pneumatic concrete chain saw from CS Unitec is designed to meet the industry's need to cut through reinforced concrete, brick, block, concrete pip and natural stone. The portable CS 71773 air saw plunge cuts up to 14 inches deep in one pass and quickly cuts mechanical openings, irregular shapes and square corners. The saw can be used hand held or with the optional SpeedHook guide to make straight cuts through walls or other surfaces. The saw operates at 90 psi air pressure and 124 cfm air volume.

    Trash pump
The new Multiquip QP-4TH 4-inch trash pump is designed for contractors who need to remove water with high solid content from quarries, mines and other construction sites. Sand, sticks, stones and other debris up to 2 inches in diameter can easily pass through the pump, the company says. The 4-inch model has a maximum pumping capacity of 555 gpm. It is driven by an 11-hp Honda gasoline engine and boasts a maximum head of 92 feet. The fast-priming QP-4TH is housed in a strong but compact aluminum die cast pump casing. The 1.1-inch pipe frame includes four easy lifting handles to facilitate transportation to, from and around the jobsite.

    For Homeowners/Light Contractors
    Power rakes
The MulchPro power rakes from Grassroots Technology are designed to be up to 75-percent faster than fluffing mulch by hand with rakes or pitchforks. The heavy-duty design allows it to cultivate dead spots in turf caused by salt or tire damage, and prepares the ground for sod or seeding in seconds. Turning and aerating mulch also promotes good composting and reduces the frequency and cost of removing accumulated mulch. Using the MulchPro to aerate mulch helps eliminate mold, mildew and fungus that forms between layers by introducing oxygen needed to activate composting.

    Tiller
Honda Power Equipment's rear-tine tiller, the FRC800, is designed for first-time rental users, featuring easy tilling operation through simple controls with one-step tine and drive engagement. A front bumper guard, heavy-duty transmission and debris shield enhance durability for rental and commercial applications. The FRC800 offers three forward gears and reverse, and its Cyclone air filter allows for long service intervals. Powered by an 8-hp engine, the tiller also features 12-inch tines for deep tilling.

    Bark blowers

The company's line of HydroSeeders, bark blowers, straw blowers and consumable products are designed for the rental industry. The Bark Blowers are designed to distribute mulch at a fast rate to increase productivity. Finn offers six different models of Bark Blowers ranging from 6.5 cubic feet to 22 cubic yard capacities, providing a model tailored to any contractor's workload.

The TBL-7800 features a side-mounted throttle and TBL-7800R is equipped with a tube-mounted throttle. The blowers can handle both everyday jobs and larger commercial jobs as well.

    Other Products
    Software
Point-of-Rental Systems' Windows-based Enterprise software is designed with speed, ease-of-use, and flexibility in mind. With easy contract writing, Internet integration, driver's license and item graphic image storage, plus an array of analysis reports to help owners track trends, Enterprise has features to help rental businesses run smoothly. It is designed to handle the complexities of single stores as well as high-volume multi-store environments. The latest 9.0 release includes No-Type Technology, which uses the Internet to automatically look up and insert information into a customer's record.

"As far as specific features go, the driver's license scanner is a favorite," says Scott Munsterman, president of Oswego, Ill.-based First Place Rental. "It not only scans a picture of the license, but it adds the information directly into the customer record. That's very helpful. Another feature we really appreciate is the automated instruction file. If you rent a roto-tiller, the system automatically prints the safety instructions with the contract. That eliminates a huge liability factor for us."
