Extends
Deadline for Electrician Certification
California electricians have three more months to
complete the requirements for mandatory certification. The California
Apprenticeship Council extended the deadline for general and
residential
electricians and fire safety technicians until July 1, 2005, and the
deadline for monolingual Spanish speakers, V/D/V installers, and
nonresidential lighting techs until Jan. 1, 2006. The electricians must
pass a computerized certification exam and complete either an
approved apprenticeship program or have 8,000 hours of experience as a
general
electrician and 2,000 hours as a nonresidential lighting technician to
be certified for work in the state.

certified electricians, download an application

grew by nearly 10% on a year-over-year basis. The Primary Industrial
